Porsche Club South Africa
The annual Porsche Club magazine is the highlight of my design year. I often say, the more freedom you have in a job - the more difficult it is. And that is the case with this magazine.
Although the magazine is overseen by the presidents of the 4 club regions. I am basically given the freedom to do as I please. Whilst this sounds easy enough, the difficulty comes in when trying to keep a consistent look and feel to the mag, but also giving the regions and their different events a different and interesting look that will keep the reader engaged from beginning to end. Space is also an issue as we have a year's worth of events, from all four regions to fit in and of course a limited budget. I always start off with beautifully designed airy and spacious layouts and then reality hits - I have too many pages and a whole bunch of article to still fit in! This magazine really is a challenge as I have to wait as long as possible to include as many events of the year in as possible, then coordinate with the four regions for their articles and photographs and liaise with their advertisers. It really is a mammoth undertaking - but one which I absolutely love. And I have to admit I am extremely proud of the end product.
